I finally saw Oppenheimer. I thought it was great. So did my husband and three friends we went with. Acting/casting and directing were 10/10. Murphy was basically born to play the role. Downey Jr was kind of the stand-out imo. Even actors like Josh Hartnett and Casey Affleck changed their mannerisms and acted exceptionally. Story/writing was decent, and was elevated by the previously mentioned acting quality. Second half went a bit long imo.

The score! The score was the star. Carried the intensity of the movie the entire way through. Even better is how the score incorporated the sound a Geiger counter makes throughout the movie. Done amazingly well and certainly a theater movie.
Was ok, but not great for me. I followed up by watching "to end all war, oppenheimer the attomic bomb" docco, very high quality, makes much more sense. Highly recommend even if you dont see the movie. It felt like the movie was entirely based on this docco.
I love Christopher Nolan's movie and have been looking forward to it, which will be released in China in ten days.
but Hans Zimmer was sorely missed, where are you Hans? Nolan needs you 🎶 😀 🎶

A guy friend of mine worked on a film with Robert Downey, Jr. He’s a Teacher now tho and no longer in Hollywood industry. He’s worked on a film set for an Oscar winning Director and other major films/TV series.
The calm before the shockwave was fuckin' excellent. Parallel timelines handled well but still a bit hard to understand what's going on initially.
A little long. Also wish they would show the Hiroshima bomb and it’s effect.
I would give 8/10 max to the movie. Anyway I have to admit that my kids swallowed that WW2 movie without blinking, which says a lot about its quality.

I wish I could have saw it. But the clerks at the desk took too long processing online orders, well after the starting time. We intended to pay in cash and checked seating 30 minutes before arriving... all clear. Upon arriving, a mob of online complainers held up everyone. One staffer had to handle online payments, in person payments, and "customer service." Haven't been to a theatre in several years...won't go for several more.
