Without CC authority, the religion would fall apart with so many denominations fighting each other for supremacy and nobody holding the truth as a result of it.
How do you understand Jesus words: "you are Peter and on this rock I will build my church" ?
Anticipating the doubts of orthodox friends: Do you know that Greeks considered the bishop of Rome (pope) the most important one? Until it became politically unprofitable and they abandoned his authority. But maybe the resources I read were not genuine. Then pls forgive me my confidence.
"You don't need anyone between you and God". So what was the role of Moses in the Bible?
I partially agree with your statements though. God and decalogue above the nation and human emposed rules. Christianity teaches long time preference. But then: Cesar can keep his shitcoins and demand from us to pay him so he can maintain the state and order. But he will be judged by God on his rulings, the greater graces he recieved the bigger demands are expected from him. The free will, many times used wrongly

Could you share some verses that point to the bible rejecting the state? IMO the bible is supporting monarchy with idealky the ruler obeying God. Mark 12:17 comes to mind.
