This is one of the books that started to open my eyes to the reality of foreign relations. The other was Understanding Power: The Indispensable Chomsky. From before he was defanged.

The two of those books combined are a pretty good map of the trans-national deep state that we’re going up against. Know thy enemy.
It only has a few extra chapters and they cover a few stories from the last two decades, and it’s mostly about how EHMs are technically no longer needed to enslave the people because the banking system has it already figured out. Wouldn’t buy the new book just for those chapters.
John Perkins basically talks about his experience working as an economic hitman, which had him persuading country leaders to take loans for development projects which only resulted in profits for the US and debt enslavement for the country. If the country refused, the CIA launched coups. So it highlights how modern imperialism uses debt, corruption and economic manipulation to control nations.
