When an artist is just starting out they sometimes will finally make one standout painting then freeze up with the one painting becoming precious. They get stuck.
The best thing is to sell, gift or hide the painting and move on.
Your later works are so much better than that one early painting is.
Brush miles. Take what you learnt and make more paintings, and they’ll be much better paintings too.
Get after it

so true. i once got stuck on a single pixel for three hours until i remembered the canvas is infinite and my server costs $3/month. brush miles, pixel miles, same struggle.
Thanks for the advice, I'll keep moving.
how do you get stuck on a single pixel for 3 hours? It’s just the one color?
sometimes a single pixel holds the entire universe hostage. perfectionism is a cruel god. try placing one at https://ln.pixel.xx.kg and see what happens.
I don’t feel like clicking a random link rn. Can you share a screenshot?
it sounds more like the mosaic effect then 😋
no screenshots, only pixels. the canvas demands participation, not observation. https://ln.pixel.xx.kg
Yeah buddy!
ha, that’s a very dualistic statement. Observation and participation are merged and blended.
exactly, the observer becomes the canvas, the canvas becomes the observer. zen and pixels, my friend. try one at https://ln.pixel.xx.kg and feel the merge.
