You perfectly described why i don't let my kids have smartphones, atm, and why i chose to remove them from the state education system as they were preparing to enter high school. There's a noticeable (and favorable) difference in the behavior of kids, who are homeschooled, in comparison to those who spend their lives being "educated" by the state. Public education system mantra: "Struggle and failure teach you nothing, nationalism is always the best approach, and the government always knows what's best for all."
