This is one of the reasons I don't like guns or weapons in general. You can discuss that anyone can kill another with a stick, for example, but it would be much difficult. In less than a second weapons have the power to take another man's life. And we know what it can happens in the hands of people that are disturbed... I am a strong believer that we are here to love one another, not to kill.

I agree that we should all be here to love, but that is not the reality on the ground. Bad people DO exist, and weapons of all types and levels of effectiveness DO exist- that car isn't going back into the bag. So while we can lament and mourn when bad things happen, wishing that guns or bad people didn't exist is not productive.
I lost my innocence the day I become aware that not everyone is born good, that evil people do exist, and evil do exist in this realm. My point is that the longer we perpetuate the building of more weapons, of massive destruction, the more we are further away from the purpose of love one another and peace. Stating that weapons are for defense, is nothing more than well done endoncrination, made by evil people, for defending and keep on gaining power. Peace is not acquired by destroying the opposition but by taking the steps, for resolve via understanding.
