Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that remarks from NATO officials suggesting the possibility of preemptive strikes on Russia are “extremely irresponsible” and reflect a clear push toward further escalation.
She added that Russia views the NATO Military Committee chairman’s comments as a deliberate effort to undermine ongoing attempts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
