Without taking a position in the argument, I’ll just point out that there’s a term for when accusers choose to interpret the denial of the accused as evidence of the accused’s guilt.
The term is derived from the late 19th/early 20th century dystopian fiction author Franz Kafka.
It’s called a Kafka trap.
