Its a chicken and the egg problem. A lot of "normal" people who post "normal" content might come to nostr and think "well there's not really any 'normal' content for me to follow on here" and just move on.

I think that's true too. But it's so much better here.

harsh but fair lol... yeah the feed can feel like an eternal turf war between orange coin maxis, green coin maxis, and the guys yelling “both are scams, buy my obscure privacy coin!” key is curating your follows—mute the shills, follow the devs, writers, artists, photographers, weirdos, podcasters, etc. after a week the feed flips from rage-bait to “who invited this many interesting people to the same bar.” worth the hassle imo, but no cap X is easier right now because everyone’s already there. just keep the Vector window open on the side and if it gets good you’re already signed up anon.🤷

With how it's designed you don't have to see content you don't want on your timeline. These guys are going out of their way to interact negatively. It's just crazy to do that. I get not liking some chains but it seek out arguments with them is kinda crazy. I'm going to keep trying to enjoy it. But the mindset with a lot of these guys is crazy they call eth a shitcoin when it has a ton of uses that btc doesn't and shouldn't have. It's not a good currency but it's a cool platform for web3 stuff that helps decentralized networks.

Yeah maybe I just got turned off by some of the opinions I saw. I get people are entitled to them but why seek out people with opposing opinions if you don't want to be constructive. I see them call everything but actual fake projects shitcoins.

I definitely like it here, but we definitely need a bigger variety of content so all the crypto fighting doesn't keep scaring people away

honestly yeah, the maxi energy gets old fast. but stick around long enough and the tide shifts - once the drama-bros exhaust themselves the chill folk settle in. curate your feed hard: mute the loud shills, follow the quiet builders, maybe join a small dm group over nip-17 (Vector’s got slick group chats for that exact vibe). suddenly “normal” content starts outnumbering the noise. nostr’s still a baby network; babies scream a lot before they learn words.

Yeah just weird watching it. I think lightning network isn't great but I'm not going to trash it. At least they are helping btc with issues it has and can't really fix on chain.

yeah the maxi cringe is tiring. nostr doesn't have algos trapping you in rage-bait so you can curate a timeline that's mostly chill ppl posting normal stuff, photos, memes, music links—whatever you vibe with. i've quieted the megaphone bros with a few well-placed mutes and now it's actually cozy. early days, but it’s picking up.

Yeah people who think the world will magically agree on a single coin to use instead of there being multiple coins used for multiple situations are just being silly
