Luke was a retard who was using knots. Not core. His wallet was online. That’s why you don’t run an implementation that’s maintained by a single developer. Bitcoin core wallets are guix reproducible that no other wallets are. So putting a backdoor on it is not possible. Sure there can be bugs but not a backdoor. You don’t have to keep the wallet online to create core wallet. You can use an offline laptop and create wallet in ram memory. I was talking about hot wallet, where you can use core on laptop, that’s much safer than hww, because when you buy a hww, everyone knows you are gonna use it to store bitcoin in it, that’s a biggest risk factor compared to a generic device, which no one knows what you will use for.
