Which Linux distro would you recommend for an older (age) newbie (Linux experience)? Is it easiest to buy a laptop from System76 with Ubuntu?

I've been using Pop_OS! (from System76), but I flashed it into a Asus computer. Didn't hear good things about System76 hardware. It's works great, minus a flew glitches here and there, but nothing major. I also had never used a Linux distro before and his has been my first experience with it and can't complain.
