The true mark of wealth is whether you can afford to do the things you believe in even when they are costly. Live and become someone who can rise above the rat race. That's the entire point of #Bitcoin. Not being able to recognize that is a sign of poverty. Couldn't be me. image

There is a return on investment that is impossible to quantify that you get when paying off a mortgage. Yea on paper it doesn’t get you a better return but IRL there is a qualitative return that can’t be measured that’s only positive.
I could've put more money into my mortgage and I would have a smaller debt now. Instead, I went all in on btc. I could pay off my mortgage in full now if I wanted and still have btc left over.
Through their Greener Homes Initiative, the Canadian government is offering me a 10-year, interest-free loan for $40,000 CAD (0.25 BTC) to get solar, upgrade my doors and windows, etc. I’ve done the math. It makes sense (it will replace my power bill with a loan payment). But I just can’t do it. I just don’t want the debt, especially 10 years of it.
I think if you can't easily pay off your mortgage with a small % of your savings, then play the long game.
