Mine is based on NIP-29: relay-based simple groups (no spinners allowed)
Essentially, each creator is their own private group, so all content published, and responded to by subscribers, is tagged within the creator’s group

No, but encrypted groups can work exactly the same way as this if you invite the relay as a member to the group. The encryption gives you defenae in depth and the option of hosting on a commodity relay.
