The popular Telegram channel Abu Ali Express (yes, terrible name. But a very good channel) did an interesting poll. He asked his audience of they think Israel should make a law that those that participated in the 7th of October massacre will get the death penality. Just to put this in context, Israel has the death penality for only one crime. Bing a Nazi's (actual members of the third Reich, not "he doesn't agree with me" Nazi's) and assisting Nazi's during WW2. Only one man was ever convicted of that crime and given the death penality. Eichmann. An overwhelming majority voted that Israel should make a law so that the perpetrators of the 7th of October massacre would get a death penality. I voted against it. Not that I think that they don't deserve it. They deserve it and it's the most moral thing to do. It's just that it would never happen. As soon as the law will pass there will be an endless amount of appeals to the supreme court. The supreme court will either over throw the law or add so many restrictions to the law, that it would become impossible to convict anyone. Remember, Israel is not a democracy. Israel is an Autocratic Judiciary. Th SCoI decides if there is a constitution, what is in the constitution and if a law contradicts their imaginary construction. The chances that they would allow such a law, with their left leaning, are slim. Even if they allow the law, it doesn't mean they will allow the execution (no pun intended) of the law. Each and every case will reach the table of the supreme court. From past rullings we can safely deduce that they won't allow anything to happen. Passing such a law and trying to implement it will be a huge wast of tax payers money. image #israel #democracy #justice
