No, the book is more a history of cryptography and basic principles. It explains how the government controlled strong cryptography until Phil Zimmermann released PGP into the wild. As for ECDSA or Schnorr, I don't understand it very well, certainly not enough to be able to explain it convincingly. A few weeks ago, I got Chatty to explain it to me, it's too much to paste here, but you can tune your AI of choice to explain and ask it to explain elements you don't understand. That worked pretty well for me.
