Lightning labs is working on tap ass. Not sure is assets on lightning is the best solution though. Not sure how much of a "thing" that will ever be since it's not a bolt and is purely an LND thing.

I would like to tack on I think tap ass has been a major distraction to LND while during the same time CLN built a infrastructure grade lightning implementation and improved the protocol overall. It's for this reason I run CLN.
