I really do hope so. It is time we woke up. I’m always so disappointed listening to US based podcasters view about what a pushover the brits are. We most certainly are not a push over, it just takes more for us to get collectively emotional. I hope beyond hope that this is one of our unspoken likes in the sand.
Comparing a nation of 69 million unarmed people to a nation of 340 million armed is that argument though. It's easy to point fingers when they're (mostly) legally allowed to hold a handgun on their hip.
Precisely. A petition is nothing more than a subservient plea to one's overlords. And to vote in their "elections" is nothing more than an endorsement of their power over you.
They even threw in the “wallets” for the authoritarian coin in their response and clearly state (although semantically as usual) that it will serve to limit access to function and service. The People: “No!” (In somewhat record breaking numbers.) The government: ‘We’ll do it anyways, as it’s not like we work for you at all. Oh, we do?! Your tax money?! Yeah, we can just print more of that.’
