Before anyone believes a new trade is real, everyone looks in their notebook to make sure it’s correct. This is what happens in Bitcoin. Each computer that uses Bitcoin is like a friend with a notebook. They check that no one is trying to cheat or give the same coin twice. When all the notebooks agree, the trade is finished, and everyone can trust it. This makes Bitcoin very safe because it’s almost impossible to trick all the notebooks at once.
