Again, this is the American habit of equating the UK with Europe. UK isn't even in the EU, it's in the Commonwealth, along with Australia and Canada. A quarter of the people in Bavaria and nearly half of Saxons never got the Covid vaccination, and our lockdowns were comparitively short and light. Sweden hardly did any safety measures at all, other than canceling large concerts and stuff.

Sweden was ๐Ÿคฉ I wasn't referring to the UK and don't tend to equate them with EU countries. In fact I don't know much about UK compliance with covid restrictions. I do know friends who had to show ID to be on the street in Paris, and overall - even with the low rates in Saxony - I believe that the vaccination numbers in Germany are higher than in the US. But fair enough- there's clearly variation within each country! Although even there I wonder what the cultural trends might be that made some regions more reasonable.
