⚡️🇯🇵 NEW - A Japanese minister arrived 5 minutes late — and apologized to the entire country
A minister in Japan arrived five minutes late to a meeting with the Prime Minister and immediately issued a public apology to the people.
Speaking to the press, she explained that the delay was caused by traffic congestion. In a country where punctuality is taken very seriously, even a small delay can lead to a public explanation.

It sounds nice, but in practice creates a toxic culture. I am all for being on time, but never for overreacting for delays.
So she was 7 minutes late...
Gotta respect the respect.
I actually prefer Spanish, 30 minutes late zero explanation, no apology. What a pathetic society.
Being late is down right rude and disrespectful. I like the how Japanese culture approaches this.
