Just as a person can live in a new country with only a passport and a wallet, a self-controlled ID and wallet together form the online "Me." Then, Me can chat and browse. In Chat, users use the ID and pay relays with the wallet on a per-use basis. In Browser, users can log in to websites with the ID and use the wallet to pay BTC Lightning invoices.

My point is, why even use a encryption service where you don't hold your keys in the first place, that's what Apple is about, make you feel like you have privacy while you don't. And while Europeans have to publicly announce that they backdoored you, Americans doesn't have to, which doesn't mean they don't do it. In fact, it has been proven multiple time that they do it 🤷‍♂️
