99.9 % wouldn't do this though. Webclients are more acceptable to the general populace. Don't get me wrong, I still think launching it in the appstore was good for visibility and adoption. I just think you should always have a solid webclient.

Agree on both points. If we can bootstrap the network through the walled gardens, we should. It's a much quicker path. Ultimately though, if this thing does what we need it to, to give a voice to everyone, even the people we don't like. Then the incumbent will do everything it can to cut that off. App stores is the obvious first step. Having the ability to continue installing fully baked apps (Android) is 10x better than pushing people to less secure web clients as a long term solution.
