Re: OpenSats & Core vs Knots debate
@Gigi , @ODELL , @DETERMINISTIC OPTIMISM 🌞 (I know there are more but I don’t know all) almost at min 12 Matthew throws the ball to OpenSats and others. Is there any statement / publication / minutes from OpenSats to learn on its position regarding this topic, or this has not been addressed so far?
TIA

bitcoin core devs represent a very small part of the 325+ grants we have distributed
personally i would like to see more well maintained and reviewed implementations available - opensats is well situated to make that a reality - the primary concern of dev capture is best mitigated is by funding more devs, not less - this is one of the main reasons we donate our time to build out opensats

OpenSats
Transparency - OpenSats
OpenSats' transparency and policy documents.
Part of the problem
liar
Nothing needs to be developed, hence nothing needs funded. It’s incentivizing fiat hungry people to do the wrong thing.
we are an incredibly transparent org
all our grant recipients are listed on our website
if you have specific concerns feel free to voice them
if you dont find the open source software we support helpful then feel free not to use it
I was specifically referring to the LTS program for Core Developers…Doesnt that incentivize people to fix things that aren’t broke?
IMHO, we have money (Bitcoin), a public square and market place (Nostr), now. What’s missing to really have a parallel P2P system is the logistics capabilities to deliver goods without using the government’s systems and doxing one‘s address. To fully close the loop we need a decentralized system to have people drive packages from one hub to another (maybe Bitcoin meetings) etc.
That could accelerate true adoption.
