So yea, because of what's happening with Steam and Itch and pretty much any store (delistings/censorship of thousands to tens of thousands of games, and will continue to grow), I started mentioning the game store project, where relevant, in regards to the current marketing efforts from DEG Mods. Not that it's in development, but mentioning it's been in the planning stage, and will continue being in that stage, until either DEG Mods sees decent success, to fund its development, or investments come along for it.
What's neat is, the knowledge from building DEG Mods and a lot of the code used would carry over to the game store project.
And yes, already thought of a way to handle game producers to sell their games using traditional payment systems, without the store being a single point of failure. Hasn't been developed, of course, to know that it'll work, but the path to that goal is there.
Envision the future where this is out and its core systems are fully developed and ironed out, this would be the most high-value store for both game producers (indie and AAA) and buyers that solves most of their issues with all current stores.
The future with Freedom Tech is very hopeful. It already is awesome for those using it =3

If I can suggest anything, is to look into how devs complain that GOG is unsupportive and complicated to deal with if you want to publish your games there. While itch.io is fairly easy.
Didn't start designing anything yet, but basically will look at as many stores (steam, gog, itch, egs, etc) and take all the best bits to make (or at least attempt) at have a nice design and flow from the get go.
It'll definitely be easy to publish a game, probably would be easier and more accessible than any other (if not from the start then the second time around with a redesign), and I'm hoping that the GitHub alts on nostr get released before dev starts, so that devs can utilize that as well / perhaps hook it up with it.
Would you be interested in collaborating on building this game store?
There is interest.
Let's have an initial talk and see what happens from there?
