We are rapidly moving toward the implementation of a Chinese-style ideology in Europe! The Chinese model of digital currency allows for: • complete tracking of all transactions; • the imposition of rules on where, when, and how money can be used; • the possibility for funds to expire; • account blocking and exclusion from the system for ideological or political reasons (whether on social media or anywhere on or off the internet). When Lagarde talks about following this model, what she is proposing is a programmable currency, subject to central criteria, with no guarantee of individual freedom. The digital euro is presented as innovation, but its subtext is clear: total financial control. It is the end of monetary privacy and individual sovereignty. Bitcoin is the only real alternative.
