I see it as a shame and a waste. It seems to be an attack in some way. Right now all good software has this issue. Tor, Debian (which Start9 and Umbrel all use) and now Bitcoin cOrE. It seems a lot of developers, at the least, are not good at preventing bad actions from entering into their communities as of late. NixOS is (in my strong opinion) an evolution in Linux. I used Ubuntu and then Arch and NixOS.

I use Debian mostly myself. Never got around to learning the Nix package manager. (Never been mad enough at a debian problem to try.) I migh mess around with Nix and find out.
