Maybe because they've been occupied for 70+ years, continually denied a state, and occassionally bombed every so often? Look up the blockade they had on Gaza since 2006. Even pasta, wedding dresses, soccer balls and paper were banned at one point. I don't see how you can blame Hamas for the destruction of Gaza when they didn't drop the bombs to flatten Gaza...
