Of course - that shows up in the volatility .. #gold is most stable asset .. even after it was demoeytized .. If you can take risk - #bitcoin is the best .... if your risk appetite is low ( retired folks like me :-) a part of portfolio has to be gold ... I suggest 30 30 30 in btc , GLD and VTI ... ten pecent cash or single bets like $MSTR

Ah yes well thats makes sense I suppose. Each to their own. Have you considered... being heavy on BTC for the bull swings and then selling into Gold (due to its relative stability) for a year or so while market corrects downward then going in on BTC again. This would take advantage of the greater upside fof BTC but also the greater stability of Gold. There is the issue of timing the market of course which is a significant one but DCA in and out of BTC according to a risk metric should help you avoid the difficulties of timing the top. You wont capture all of the top but lets say alot of it.
