What have you zapped lately? I’m trying to zap stuff that I genuinely find valuable, funny, informative. Seeing artists posting their original work almost always gets a zap from me. Normalize zapping generously. I think we need more zaps per valued post than sats per zap. *Whoop! - I just got zapped while writing this post* πŸ˜€ I’m thankful for every zap. ⚑️ likes mean almost nothing compared to the even the smallest zap. #zap #zapathon #grownostr

Mostly photos, I think, landscapes, travel, souvenirs, animals... as long as it's original content, it can get a Zap from me The same goes for those who share their work or their passion. Conversely, I hardly Zap any content that can be found everywhere or has already been read 1000X (for example, most basic posts about BTC, with a curve or a meme), no advertising, nothing political (especially when the author talks about his government as if he were the leader of the world, without even saying where he is πŸ˜…).

What is the point of zapping, when you can just like/share a post? Liking/sharing costs no money, but it also releases dopamine for the receiver. So I see no reason in zapping.
Getting dopamine from likes on socmedia is a solid way to let your brain rotπŸ‘€ I see value in them when you're an influencer and such, but why emulate twitter when we can do something really valuable? Nostr is in the beginnings, but if 10.000 followers gave a zap to an artist, there wouldn't be a need for that artist to bother them with ads and other trash. Zap cuts out the middle man.
- Like button - "I will click it even it is probably not the best suff I have seen today. But it is free of charge, I can give thousands of likes daily." = what is the value of such like for me? - zap - "sending my own money, will really think whether I like it or not" = this person liked it so much, he paid me his own money
Still, they are your money. Anybody receiving your 3c knows, that this "like" is not among thousands of others. Even it is just 3c, I believe, you think before sending "is it really valuable for me?"
