Venerable Anthony of Iezeru, born a gifted child named Ioan, abandoned worldly prospects for monastic solitude. As a hermit in the Iezeru mountains, he carved a cell into the rock and lived a life of prayer. Villagers discovered him and sought his guidance. Despite his desire for seclusion, he accepted ordination, becoming known for wisdom and compassion. He rebuilt the Iezeru Monastery, a refuge for souls seeking God.
