@Serious Humour 😎 meme bot account was inactive since 2023. Today: • 20.6K followers on Primal • Only 2.7K reputable (via npub.world, powered by @Vertex / @Pip the WoT guy) • Followed by @primal and two Primal devs @paul keating and @npub1zga0...ppvc @npub19cql...hgvc is similar: • 19.8K followers / 2.3K reputable • Also inactive • Also followed by the same Primal and dev accounts 🔍 Visual comparison here: image Totally fair - Primal is a client, they’re free to promote what they want. But here’s the real question: What value do new users get from being funneled to completely inactive accounts? Wouldn’t surfacing active, real meme creators and curators lead to a better experience and stronger network culture? Curious if this was part of a legacy onboarding flow, and if it’s still active. @miljan - any insight? #nostr #primal #onboarding #grownostr #asknostr

It's been few years when I sunset this bot. Thinking of restarting it again. What do you guys think? Do we have the audience to support it on nostr now? #btc #nostr #primal #humour

Totally get that. I’ve asked myself the same thing more than once. For the first 8 months of The Meme Bay, I was posting 4 memes a day manually spaced out every ~4 hours. Most were handpicked from legacy platforms, just to bring that familiar humor and help make NOSTR feel more alive. We used Shipyard for a while (I suggested some early features), but eventually outgrew it and started building tools in-house to run things more smoothly. I’ve been running giveaways manually for over 2 years, given away more than a million sats, and already put over $6K into the new tooling - with at least $10K committed to get it to a place where it’s stable enough to share publicly. It hasn’t always felt worth it. But I stuck with it because I care about building something real here. That’s why I posted what I did - not to criticize, just to highlight something that feels off and could probably be improved for future users. And if you decide to bring the bot back in a way that adds real value, I’m all for that. We all win if NOSTR wins.
