Gold managed to be money for thousands of years despite having supply inflation of 1 to 2%. So your thesis is just wrong. Absolute scarcity is not only not a necessity for sound money, it is not good monetary policy.

Put up or shut up boss. Gold was money for millennia and is STILL the go-to SoV for billions, despite having supply inflation. So obviously a fixed cap isn't a requirement for hard money or a SoV. In fact, no economist EVER suggested that we should eliminate the supply side of the price of money. Now what were you saying?
