Just got the dreaded news from back home, on what’s slated to be the hardest day on tour, that my father has passed away. Trying to process and accept it, and still get through this day of work without breaking down while working in a foreign country where I don’t speak the language. Day 10 of tour. Had 3 different hotels yesterday, in two different countries. Things are picking up speed. Today will be likely the worst, work-wise, of the entire tour. Looking forward to getting through it and getting to our next stop. #tour #photos #nostr

Day 7 of tour. It’s been hectic and I’m more than ready for a full nights sleep. It seems to always be just out of reach. The word from home is that my dad is no longer verbal, but is comfortable and his hospice situation is as good as it could be. Hard to compartmentalize what’s going on back home, while still performing 100% at work, and wanting to do group activities when off the clock, but I’m giving it everything I’ve got. I think I’m doing okay, and am not too much of a stick in the mud for others. I will say I’m very sad and very tired, and I just keep trying to remind myself that that’s okay. It seems the acceptance is what frees me from it. Anyway, here is a photo from where we are now. Any guesses? #nostr #photos #tour

Day 1/2 of tour was pretty grueling. Lots of heavy lifting followed by air and road travel. Didn’t sleep for 25 hours, then got 1.5 hrs of sleep and got right back to it. We did choose to skip some sleep in order to see the city, exploring some and eating. Otherwise, what’s the point..right? #nostr #photos #tour

Today before I dip out on tour, I get the call that my dad is going to get moved to hospice care and things don’t look good. Nurse said I should get up there ASAP before I leave. So I left work, and went up and had what may be my final moments with him. I believe he knew it was me there with him and felt my love. ❤️ My brain is scattered and the timing could not have been worse, but it came with a life lesson reminder… life is going to give you some real hard trials and tribulations. Sometimes multiple at once. Your character is shown by how you handle and navigate them. I still haven’t drank. I still haven’t gotten cigarettes. I’m doing my best every day to put best foot forward. I’ve not been a perfect caretaker, but I’ve done my absolute best and gave my all. I will continue to do the best I can for my people. Finished this book today, Dopamine Nation. VERY good and quick read. Definitely worth the couple hours of read time. Good for becoming your best self, supporting others, and for being the best parent you can be. A+ #books #reading #nostr
