This won’t land with most of you. Native rec.709 files have 100x more editing margin than people give it credit for. For example, A friend who is hosting a 5k fundraiser in a week asked me to edit some videos for him with footage he got while he was in Africa. The footage was fucked. I was amazed how much I was able to bring it back in Davinci Resolve. I remember when I started making photos as a teenager that everywhere you looked, people would say you can’t edit a .jpeg file: you have to take raw photos and you have to film in log. It’s just not true. If you are half a decent editor and understand photography well enough (and aren’t working with a high budget, cinematic film), you can do almost everything with rec.709 and be fine

I. Hate. Banks. Fiat it a Latin word for “it shall be” or “let it be”. It represents a decree by the social construct organization. A law so to speak. We label fiat currency with this word because the dollar has no value other than the government tell us to trust it for the value. The issue therein lies with the constant violation of that trust for a century. Even more so for the past half century. Banks prop up this fiat system by being the (one of many) 3rd party authenticator of each transaction. Why? Because you don’t want to hold cash. You give it to them and they give you a card and you no longer have to pay for your Amazon order with cash (good luck) Meanwhile you have to be the banks little bitch. If you do anything they don’t like, you’re in trouble. They have full access and control of your money. Thankfully in USA it’s not as prevalent, but this system is exploited in third world countries by their governments to leash the population like dogs. If you take away this system, you take away permission for spending and saving. You take away an authoritarian regime’s strategy for control. You take away 3rd party risk. I’m not saying the banking system as a concept is necessarily bad. I think it’s a grey area. They’ve done more good than harm in the USA (and they’ve done so much harm). I just hate them personally. Okay bye bye

I almost feel numb to world events and news. I don’t even care to listen to the news channel when the other fire fighters or my company officer is watching. I don’t have any desire to listen to my usual podcasts that keep me up to date and provide objective and subjective criticism. Head down, build, stack sats sorta mind frame. I fear this is unhealthy despite efficient and productive. They say only focus on what you can control so I guess it’s not really an issue, but I also feel kinda weird and unsettled about it all.

Gm legends. What are you focused on today? I’m at the fire station and we are doing live burn training today. There is an arson investigation class taking place tomorrow so we are setting the stage for them while learning a few things ourself while going through the motions with what we are already good at doing. Will be learning more coding language when I get some free time. AGORA

“And I told them of the hand of my God that had been upon me for good, and also of the words that the king had spoken to me. And they said, “Let us rise up and build.” So they strengthened their hands for the good work.” ‭‭Nehemiah‬ ‭2‬:‭18‬ ‭ESV‬‬ This same God has placed his righteous hand upon me for another good work. I pray that God use me as both His tool and His son to bring freedom to the persecuted and to give power to the weak. I will ceaselessly preach the name of Jesus as the justification of my good deeds for the cross was the ultimate good deed and the pinnacle example of purchasing freedom for others. image
