Cashu blew my mind at first. I was like bitcoin on lightning with no fees and even more privacy! But then I was like, it’s custodial, but you choose your custodian. But then I started wondering… what prevents an entity from starting a mint, waiting for a deposit threshold, and then simply rugging and repeating… I’m positive my smooth lobes are missing something, but at a protocol level, is there any incentive not to do exactly this? Asking for a friend.
