If you look at the prehistory of Bitcoin, look at the ideas and social movements that existed before it,you will appreciate that Bitcoin Existence,it's inspiration was drawn from "protecting the oppressed". Bitcoin is not just money but it is a solution to the oppressed.

Bitcoin is the only form of money whose value is anchored in both technology and philosophy. Its philosophy challenges us to rethink the relationship between money, time, energy, and society. Money cannot simply be paper printed at will. Real money must be scarce, difficult to produce, and carry intrinsic value rooted in transparency, security, and fairness. Bitcoin embodies all of this , a monetary system built on proof of work, individual sovereignty, and decentralized trust.

Today I just want to give a big shout to BTrust for the amazing work they are doing in the Bitcoin ecosystem. This is a true reflection of Bitcoin philosophy promoting privacy, freedom, and empowerment through supporting Bitcoin developers. It’s inspiring to see how BTrust is creating opportunities for young people across Africa and beyond, helping them step into open-source development and other meaningful roles. For me, what stands out the most is their accountability and transparency, values that every Bitcoin initiative or entity should embody. Bitcoin is about dignity, sovereignty, and empowering communities and BTrust is living that out. Much respect.

In Malawi we are planning to open computer labs at public primary and secondary schools where students can get hands on especially on Bitcoin development. We want to build a society where students learn to become developers even at an early stage. These are some of our Bitcoin initiatives that we can't do on our own. Any amount of money contributed will make a very big difference in teaching these young boys and girls about decentralized money and also social media platforms where they get to realize the true freedom of speech, dignity and ofcourse being empowered financially.
If the cypherpunks,David Chum,Wei Dai questioned the role of privacy and freedom in the digital world, who are we not to question it now in 2026? We will not stop till masses understand the importance of decentralization starting with decentralized money to decentralized social media platforms.

We can't also talk about Bitcoin prehistory without mentioning David Chaum, who in the 1980s tried to introduce anonymous electronic money called DigiCash that unfortunately never boomed.

So in the 1980s and 1990s a group of people began to question the role of privacy and freedom in the digital world. They thought that cryptography was a tool to protecting individual rights from institutions or governments. This group of people among other series of social movements, is the most and important movement that led to the creation of what we are enjoying now called Bitcoin Technology.

I support several children both girls and boys here in Malawi. Tomorrow they are starting their second term of school. We are grateful that government schools, from primary to secondary, are free. However, we still face challenges in providing essential school materials such as notebooks, textbooks, shoes, and school bags. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference in helping these children learn with dignity and confidence. Thank you, and may God bless you as you consider supporting our initiative.

I have got two girls, Gladys and Manesi, who are going back to school at Kabudula Secondary School this coming January but cannot afford necessary items because they are from poor families. I need anyone willing to help me with school materials such as books, bags, shoes, and other necessities. Any support will be much appreciated.

There is no way governments should talk about freedom of speech encouraging girls, boys, women, men, and the less privileged to speak up without including YakiHonne in that conversation. In this era, real journalism is journalists using decentralized platforms that allow them to reach the masses without censorship. As long as we rely on centralized platforms, we will continue facing the same problem: real voices, real facts, and real freedom being filtered and reshaped to fit existing systems. Decentralization is not just technology; it is liberation. And YakiHonne is leading that path.

My LinkedIn Experience & Why I Advocate for YakiHonne I once used LinkedIn as a platform to advocate for sexual and reproductive health for girls, which is part of my mission to promote girl child education. I started small with only one follower but within a short period, my network grew to over 200 people. I was connecting, networking, sharing ideas, and building a community. Then one day everything changed. When I tried logging in to post, I was met with a notification saying I needed two way verification. In simple terms my account had been hacked. I reported the issue and was told to submit identification like a passport or national ID. I submitted my national ID since my passport had issues, but it wasn’t recognized. They gave me another option: go to a lawyer and get an official confirmation letter. I paid for it, hoping this would help me regain access. But even after doing everything required, my account was still not accepted. Just like that, I was banned from LinkedIn locked out of my work, my voice, and my community. This experience is one of the major reasons I strongly advocate for YakiHonne. A platform built on the Nostr protocol. A platform with no KYC, no central authority, and no censorship. A platform where your voice truly belongs to you. YakiHonne represents digital freedom the kind of freedom many of us in Africa have long been denied on traditional social media platforms. And as someone who fights for girls’ education, empowerment, and community voices, I believe we deserve platforms where we are not silenced or controlled. This is why I will continue to advocate for YakiHonne until more people realize that the future of communication, community, and freedom is decentralized.

2026 is the year to build, advocate, and go further than ever for Bitcoin, for Nostr, and most importantly for YakiHonne. A year to amplify a social media platform that stands for freedom, a space without censorship where every voice matters. 2026 is the year we bring YakiHonne to the people even the most underserved in rural areas. A year to show the oppressed that they have a place to speak. A year to empower young girls, young boys, women, men to share their stories, highlight their struggles, and receive the support they deserve. 2026 is the year YakiHonne unlocks opportunities in Bitcoin and media. A year for the youth to realize they can create their own jobs, produce meaningful content, and earn zaps for the value they bring. A year to show that empowerment is possible when people have the right tools. 2026 is the year we introduce YakiHonne to the majority and by the end of it, everyone, everywhere, will be talking about it.

Freedom of speech is no longer fully expressed on Twitter or Facebook, where people can be reported, hacked, or even banned. Freedom of speech is on Nostr specifically on YakiHonne. And freedom of peer to peer exchange is on Nostr as well, especially through Mostr. We are living in a decentralized era.
