very strange coming here as a SMM. i never really liked social media as it is now , but i really loved being able to help people get their projects seen in one of the only place you can build a wide audience. but so far places like nostr feel like what social media should be. i hope web3 stuff can grow so therell be better ecosystems that get creators seen without fighting against a corpo algorithm that demands you be inauthentic because at the end of the day on web2 socials, youre not selling your own product/art/idea, youre there to sell the platform youre using to the users. your content has to be made in a way that the algorithm thinks itll make meta/tiktok/etc money. and if you make money on the side thats just a side effect. social media creators are essentially all freelance workers for the companies that own the big social media platforms. which sucks
