Worried about the #[0] trend. Feels like the proof of stake version of nostr while paid relays with lightning is the proof of work version. The user experience of having to convince 5 people you are not a bot before gaining proper access to the platform seems bad. If this is popular you might have issues to get the attention of verified people beacuse they filter out non verified bots. Reminds me of the torrenting sites where you where required to build a reputation by seeding but it was essentially impossible to get a good ratio as a new user. The decentralization aspect is troubling as well. This does not look to be just another NIP. It is by putting some people at the top of a trust hierarchy.

Just uninstalled Twitter from my phone. That platform meant a lot to me, but enough is enough. Indirectly supporting that heartless asshole has stopped being an option. Will spend the time saved cuddling with the dog and working on my nostr relay.

Could not help myself, started to build a nostr relay for fun. Any recommendations for good BIP340 (Schnorr signatures) golang packages? A quick Google brings up btcec, will try that out 🤷

#[0] I love #[1] as much as the next guy. But I think we need to do something better when everybody boosts something.
