We're beginning a series of Substack Articles exploring Citadels. Over the course of the series we'll be exploring all aspect of finding your perfect Citadel. We'll begin with Resort Hacking. (House Hacking on Steroids) We know for a lot of people buying a family compound or Citadel is extremely intimidating and seems expensive. Resort Hacking - The idea: Instead of renting out a basement suite, buy a small resort. Live in one unit, rent the others, and let the business cover your lifestyle. Resort Hacking is more than a financial trick - it’s a deliberate blending of lifestyle and business. When executed well it can deliver free housing, a profitable small business, and a dramatic quality-of-life change. But it’s not passive, and the margin between a great deal and a money pit is found in realistic revenue forecasting, conservative capital planning, and honest operational assumptions.
