In many ways his performance was unimpressive, and perhaps a warning to Democrats not to go too far to the left in the coming years. The Democrats have nominated Left-wing candidates in the recent past in New York. Bill De Blasio won in 2013 and 2017 with 73% and 67% of the vote respectively. As such Mamdani did rather poorly, despite all the histrionics of the press."
