Changes in technology and privacy make me think that nothing is certain 10, 20, 30 years from now. For example, I’ve seen lots of people finding separate biological families that they knew nothing about, from 23 and me. I’m sure people who donated sperm in the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, etc., never could have conceived of how easy it would be for their biological children to locate them. And parents who used that sperm may have assumed their non biological children would never find out. Anyway, for that reason…not knowing what’s to come, I feel the need to be a lot more careful than I have been using the internet. Culture changes, technology changes, governments change. Intentions can be misunderstood. Who knows how some whimsical comment I make could be used against me in 20 years. Maybe this post could be. Maybe none of this will matter, but wondering if there is a need to be more careful, because what if it does?
