We brought them food in a truck, they turned the truck around and emptied everything out. The truck couldn't be fixed. We distributed food in a region, and we discovered people would just resell it to buy electronics. We paid for food for a pregnant woman, and we found out she went to an expensive salon in a wealthy district every week while claiming she was starving. My parents helped a poor family with their bills, and those same people went around telling everyone my parents were terrible people and didn’t deserve kindness. I’m not Christian, but I know people can abuse charity, heavily. So this trend of calling institutions to ask for baby formula doesn’t fool me. I wouldn't be surprised if these places used to give things out purely out of kindness (maybe not the mega-churches), but people abused it.
