Building aitherboard and the Alexandria library
Just turned a 15 mb Excel spreadsheet into a 41 kb SQLite database, and normalized it down to 3NF, and then quadrupeled the test cases it covered, and I'm feeling pretty good about myself.
I have another behemoth to knock down, but it's a real doozy. This one was just the warm-up big ball of data mud.
Run your own Nostr node.
It is up to each of us. Burn your idols. Doctors, heal yourselves. Stop putting your faith in kings and get moving.
1) Download your events to your local app database or a local relay, or use an export tool.
2) Setup a local relay and include it in your app's relay list. Configure it so that you and your friends' events are protected ON YOUR HARDWARE. Make the censors pry the events out of your cold, dead laptop.
3) If you are using Android, install Orbot, Citrine, and Amber, and make good use of them. You do not need to use Amethyst, to use these systems!
4) Tip devs directly. Don't force the funds through a financial funnel. That funnel is a chokepoint and can get easily closed off.
5) Support and utilize a selection of large remote/aggregator relays, source-hosted from different legal jurisdictions and run by different admins.
6) Consider setting up and running your own community relay. More relays better.

Onboarding everyone to
one Nostr application and
one mega-relay and
one follow list and
one company and...
is soon going to be discovered to be a cardinal mistake.
It has repeatedly been shown to be our Achilles heel, as something interrupts the Primal service and masses of users head for the exit.
That is just Twitter, with extra steps, but in purple.
Nostr is not meant to be centralized.
Nostr is not meant to have a single point of failure.
Nostr is not meant to have a CEO.
Nostr is not meant to have a God List.
That. Is. The. Whole. Point.
Let a thousand Nostrs bloom. ๐ธ
We didn't choose this battle, Nostriches, but it might choose us.
Godspeed. ๐ซก
>> The age-verification rule isn't aimed solely at sex sites, but at any digital entity where racy content or other "harmful" speech could be found.
In addition to Bluesky, Reddit, X, Discord, and Grinder "have now announced they will deploy age assurance" schemes, Ofcom says.
Services had until last week to start complying or face serious financial consequences.
On Bluesky, this means submitting credit card information or submitting to a facial scan.<<
