GoBrrr Pool Update Log: Smart Vardiff, UI Improvements & Stability Fixes
I've been working on updates to the mining pool over the past few days. Here's what's new:
Smart Vardiff & Automatic Miner Recognition
The pool now identifies your miner type on connect and assigns an optimal starting difficulty, no more one-size-fits-all. Whether you're mining with a NerdMiner, Bitaxe, NerdQAxe, or a fleet of Antminer S21s, the pool recognizes your hardware and adapts instantly.
Supported devices and firmware include:
- NerdMiner, NerdNOS, NMMiner → starts at diff 100
- Bitaxe, ESP-Miner, AxeOS → starts at diff 2,000
- NerdQAxe, NerdAxe → starts at diff 2,100
- Antminer S21/T21 → starts at diff 1,200,000
- Antminer S19/S9, Whatsminer M30/M50/M60, Avalon, Innosilicon → model-appropriate diffs
- Custom firmware (Braiins, VNish, LuxOS, HiveOn) → recognized
- Rental platforms (NiceHash, MiningRigRentals) → recognized
On top of that, we now have progressive vardiff, a 3-stage system that converges on your optimal difficulty much faster than before. Stage 0 checks after just 21 shares or 60 seconds, then gradually ramps up to normal intervals. No more waiting minutes for the pool to figure out your hashrate. This improves efficiency for all miners, but is especially effective for high hashrate machines as an optimal diff value helps to squeeze out every last bit of hashrate.
Dashboard & UI Improvements
- Redesigned Pool Stats page with cleaner layout
- Redesigned Dashboard with reorganized sections
- Fixed miner type aggregation to only count active miners, no more ghost devices inflating your stats
Stability & Performance
- Fixed a connection limit issue that could cause the pool to stop accepting new miners under heavy load
- The pool now supports tens of thousands of concurrent connections (69420)
All changes are already live on pool.gobrrr.me and will be ported to the umbrel app version soon™!
At this point we diverged pretty far from the original CKpool, this pool is now it's own unique hybrid piece of software which aims to combine the best features of all the pools.
Solo mine on. Frens!
