Checking in from Chemnitz or Karl Marx Stadt, as the city was called in the communist DDR. The city was meant to be the model city of a communist working society… Since the fall of the DDR Chemnitz’s population is down 20% #travel #germany #coffeechain #plebchain #bitcoin #nostravel image
Chemnitz was the industrial heartbeat of East Germany. In 1953 Chemnitz was in-fact renamed to: Karl Marx Stadt by East Germany's communist leadership. Chemnitz was supposed to become the model city of a communist working society, as we now know that plan didn't come to materialise. Chemnitz is still today struggling massively from the economic collapse that happened to East Germany after the collapse of the country. The population has declined with more than 20% since 1990 and young people are still leaving on mass. In 2025 Chemnitz has been named European Capital of Culture so I went to explore how Chemnitz is doing and to find out what happens to a city post economic collapse? #bitcoin #travel #germany #nostravel #nostr #grownostr #plebchain

This is Laguna Jarruma located deep in the Bolivian Andes about a 5 Hour drive away from the nearest town of Uyuni. The lake was only discovered by indigenous sheepherders 10 years ago. Sitting at an altitude 4800 meters The landscape is breathtaking, quite literally… #pilgartexplores #travel #photography #nostravel #bolivia #art #bitcoin image

Salar de Uyuni is the world’s biggest salt flats with an area of nearly 11.000 sq km. To put that in perspective, Salar de Uyuni would cover 25% of Denmark— my home country 🇧🇴 #pilgartexplores #photography #bolivia #travel #nostravel #plebchain #grownostr #bitcoin image

My legs felt as if they were made of cement. Each step was a battle against the altitude. With each breath the air got thinner. The 5350m peak was looking down on me, almost arrogantly so— as if it was saying come and get me, if you dare! It was tough, but my word was it worth it! As a kid, brought up in a very non religious Denmark, to whom the yearly church visit for the Christmas mass, was my idea of hell on earth, it seems unfathomable that I’m now a 29 year old man with a fairly close relationship to God. Whatever that even means. How did I end up here? Read my latest article here 👇🏻 #pilgartexplores #travel #faith #religion #bitcoin #nostr #grownostr #coffeechain #philosophy #plebchain

Let me explain my vision for my Substack: The World According to Pilgart Explores. I want to have another format, where I can give life to these ideas, that don’t fit into the YouTube format.  So here is what you can expect when you subscribe to The World According to Pilgart Explores: 1. I want to harness a community of fellows in search of a space for radically curious, honest debate of ideas and topics in search of truth.  2. Establishing the community chat forum and hosting monthly Q&A sessions, is how I plan to create this community. 3. I will write about the fascinating stories, that just don’t work in a video format. Believe me there are many of those. 4. I want to explore the intricate details about countries that I visit- The people, the food, the culture, my honest thoughts explained in depth. 5. I will write comprehensive travel guide for you guys, so you can visit the same places as me. Not your typical tourist travel guide.  6. Lastly, as we start to grow the Community I want to explore the podcast feature, here on Substack. This can be another format in which I can interview people I meet on my travels, as well as record my stories for you guys to listen to instead of reading.  I can guarantee, that you will become a more intelligent and cultured individual, who doesn’t fear an open debate in search of truth. This is Bolivia: The Hidden Crisis of South America. In today's video I set of on a journey through Bolivia, a country that I consider a second home, a country that is near and dear to my heart, but unfortunately Bolivia is arguably also South America's Most Troubled Nation. I start of the journey through Bolivia in Sucre, Bolivia's capital, from Sucre I catch a bus to Aiquile a typical Bolivian Village known as the capital of the Charango. In Aiquile I head to the market for some traditional Bolivian food, before I set off to explore the village life in Aiquile. On day two I explore the beatiful city of Sucre and look further into the consequences of the roadblocks taking place across Bolivia, on command from the ex-president Evo Morales, who I keeping Bolivia hostage. On day three I arrive in Tarija, Bolivia's wine capital and one of the only places in Bolivia where Evo Morales never had support. How come Evo Morales never rose to popularity in Tarija? What makes Tarija so special? This is: Bolivia: The Hidden Crisis of South America. Thanks for Watching. #PilgartExplores #travel #travelstr #photography #bitcoin #coffeechain #plebchain
"Try crossing the Namib desert on a vegan diet. You’ll turn back before the first day has gone, desperately hungry and searching for the nearest vegan restaurant—nowhere to be found. You’ll face a choice: Do I want to cling on to this utopian fantasy of what’s "natural," or do I eat the delicious food nature has already provided in abundance".🌍 A vegan diet is often branded as the most ethical and sustainable diet—but my travels tell a different story. From the Amazon to the Andes, here’s why veganism is disconnected from nature 🌎 I started to write on substack, here is my latest article: How Travelling Exposes Veganism as Antything but Natural 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 #pilgartexplores #substack #bitcoin #vegan #travel #asknostr #plebchain #coffeechain #travelstr #foodstr
Join me in Potosí, Bolivia, known as the deadliest city in the country due to its perilous mining history, as we dive into the rich traditions of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). This journey begins at Potosí’s central plaza, where I explore its fascinating past as one of the wealthiest cities in the world in the 1500s, before Spanish colonisation led to an infamous extraction of silver. It’s said there was enough silver mined here to build two bridges reaching from Bolivia to Madrid and back! After uncovering Potosí’s historic legacy, we delve into the heart of the Day of the Dead festival, experiencing local customs firsthand. At the city’s cemetery, we join Bolivian families celebrating with unique offerings, exploring the symbolism behind each one. Here, I taste a variety of traditional Bolivian foods, learning how these offerings connect to honouring the deceased. Discover how Potosí’s rich history and present-day traditions merge, shaping a powerful and culturally rich celebration of life and memory. In today’s video: The Immigrant Experience | A Journey Through a Cultural Melting Pot I explore the theme of immigration. Immigration is an increasingly debated topic. USA and many in the countries in the EU grapple with increasing immigration skepticism. Yet, at the same time, they face a demographic reality, a shrinking workforce, mixed with an aging populations isn’t exactly the recipe for future prosperity, just ask Japan. Yet more and more western politicians seem to be reaching for one of the oldest tools in the toolbox. Blaming all issues on the foreigners. Immigration isn’t a new concept—it’s a necessity. And nowhere is this more apparent than in countries built on immigration—like the United States... and Argentina #PilgartExplores #Travel #artstr #photography #art #nostr #plebchain

image As I drove along the roads of Argentinian Patagonia, I came around a corner, down a hill and in the middle of the road stood this beautiful pair of foxes. I slammed my breaks and quickly grabbed my camera. The foxes weren’t too bothered about my presence, they looked interested at me, one of them even got closer to the car. It reminded me of experiences I had, had driving through Namibia back in 2017 (See Thirsty African Bush Elephant). Only difference being, back then the attraction was a an elephant not fox. Both are beautiful animals in their own might. The Fox barked at the sky as if it wanted to tell me something. Maybe it was hungry...? image It's early morning. The first rays of light hit the sky above my tent. I grab my camera. I open my tent. I'm not tired! I'm full of energy! Energy from the sun that has decided to put on an absolute spectacle for me this morning. It is morning glory.
