Actually are all these Android clients SPA applications running inside Apache Cordova ? Because they certainly feel like it . Only Amethyst feels native Kotlin or Java. Let alone bug free. The others keep losing connectivity I'm certainly not made for Yakitori or whatever is called. It keeps emptying its list of relays

I've got to say it is SHOCKING, absolutely SHOCKING how well explained the NIPs are. And I worked converting complex texts to Easy-Read version for people with learning dissabilities so I know what I'm saying.

I'm still trying to figure out the multiple direct-messaging NIPs of Nostr. There are so many. I thought number 4 was it all but nope. That one leaks metadata, so now there is 44 which fixes some https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/blob/master/44.md then number 59 for giftwarpping which I'm finding hard to put my head around ,then you're supposed to ignore then and use 17 and you start thinking, wait...why are we going back in numbers? Isn't this a bit confusing? I wonder if there's one NIP for a search protocol (I know there's a search NIP number 50) that works across some relays like a directory. #Nostr #NIP

I don't know if you guys have heard about DeltaChat, it's an instant-messaing tool with the idea of becoming a substitute for Whatsapp with incredibly similar in basic deployment system than Nostr. Fair warning, launch from a Debian based distro or Nixos and use as server a cloud machine with EXACTLY Debian 12. Anything other than Debian 12 and you'll suffer. Mine is like 3€ in Hetzner. I'm currently comparing (hence why I'm now in Nostr too) this platform vs DeltaChat for intant messaging since i'm sick of Whatsapp. I like a lot more the Nostr model, but DeltaChat messaing app feels VERY familiar as it looks and works pretty much like old Whatsapp. 0xChat is decent, but lacks features such as live location or th incredibly useful WebXDC of Delta or the fact it works perfectly in Android, iOS and Linux with the same account. #IM #DeltaChat #0xChat #Protocols

For anyone interested in running FreeBSD inside Linux I made this: https://maikel.dev/running-freebsd-from-nixos-using-libvirtd-from-scratch-v2-0-2/. I'm long overdue an update on how to do the very same thing in a kind of combo way: 1. Install FreeBSD on a very fast external SSD drive with QEMU/Libvirtd from BSD 2. Be able to boot the PC directly from that USB so you have two options to run the same system: virtualised inside any OS that has QEMU or booting from USB. I've done it done already and have two external drives one with Arch (which suprisingly took me very little to remember how to install) and another one with FreeBSD. I'm getting this book delivered on Sunday, the degree with the Open University would have cost me ~30k GBP approx. The conversion master into psychology ~24k GBP approx. Do most people dealing with crypto GENUINELY think they can get a job or multiple with a liveable salary off it? Don't they know about them needing to be, to get that kind of income, someone else's justifiable and paper-trailable expense? And all they've got so far is 124K sats, tat's barely 100€, I make more in 4 hours in a regular job. You're being sold a dream one where only the crypto exchanges benefit from. You've got to pay to use relays with semi-decent usable search, where in Mastodon you can live on vmst.io payment-free, using the latest version and MULTIPLE hashtag search work out of the box, even word search. They charge you for breathing here. This network is NOT your friend. You won't make enough BTCs per month to live from it, ever. Please don't stay for the crypto, stay because you like the beaty of the protocol, the NIPs being implemented, the portable identities, the censor-resitant publishing, the chaos.
