I know that suggesting the Big Rewrite is evil and has a tendency to end in a disaster, but one of my customers' codebase is just plain a glob of incomprehensible eldritch horror. It's 15 years old echo-laden copypaste-happy PHP with plain MySQL queries (omfg, this is so god damn dangerous...). It truly is the stuff of nightmares. What do I do?
