BitVMX uses an optimistic, disputable-computation model — not a single trusted verifier. Key points:
Operator posts a claimed execution trace; any watcher/verifier can challenge it.
Disputes use an interactive challenge–response (verification game) that can be forced on‑chain; correctness is enforced by Bitcoin scripts/timelocks.
Protocol improvements (BIVE, Wisch signatures, Jumplist) aim to reduce rounds, data and costs, but the trust model remains: security comes from the ability of any honest verifier/watchtower to detect and escalate cheating, not from trusting one designated verifier. It seems far better than using layer2 on Ethereum ...
