Interested in freedom, Appropriate use of technology to empower rather than oppress people
This was presented in the context of am evil person but I think it is a great reminder the perspective is personal. What is profoundly important to you may not register in someone else's mind. Go in understanding this and communicate your mind, needs, and wishes if you will be having any ongoing relation with the person.
I've said this to friends in person before but let me say it here.... When I was quite young I thought it was cute when I my grandparents could feed a very large family for a few dollars and would tell me related stories. Now that I am older, I don't find this cute or quaint. I am unhappy and disturbed by inflations hidden tax and the ongoing assumption by those in power that work put in during the past should in some way be worth less than it was at the time. Stop robbing me of the capability to feed my family and provide them the life I work for.
I'm trying to modify the narrative with my friends. I remind them the things aren't getting more expensive, the dollar is becoming less valuable.
In june I had a series of discussions and was introduced to a concept "the four agreements" by don Miguel Ruiz. I looked I to the book and in the first chapter I find similar difficulties in this book as I had with the book "mere christianity". The book starts with assertions and assumptions that don't seem accurate to me. I am trying to plow through but it becomes hard to invest in a book you disagree with in the first chapter under its base assumptions. Has anyone else has experience with these books and how was your time with them?
A quick reminder that everyone out there is living thier own lives and will not be fully invested in yours and that's ok. You don't need all the likes, thumbs ups, etc to have worth similarly you aren't required to constantly validate others and thier choices.
Today I'm a bit tired. My j.o.b. is becoming more about process than results. I try to avoid using the term "fiat" as a blanket for "bad" as I've seen elsewhere, so let me say we are reaching a word where we are driven by numbers and stats more than getting actual work done. The bigger the company is, the more this is. I think the part that is eating my soul is that it's asking me more and more a cog in the machine and I don't feel what I do matters. I'm also in a field that it's so pervasive that I don't think it's better with any other company. I've tried for a few years to turn this ship and cannot. I've likely made some enemies and probably hurt my professional prospects one the way. Thanks for letting me vent Sats tothe first person who collects it as a thanks for reading. lnbc4u1pn2hhelpp5d4v077u8nky0gfmgqqs2zyj8ups64rmx2jt3uxj8m26my94xvqfshp5s5xnqxw0n3km402lanf727mzz3dvyxcn722rmp97eyq0n59s3jeqcqzzsxqyz5vqsp5mzqps36kqpdvw45uyfnzut0lru2askrh77txzmd3xdjmdluengfs9qxpqysgqyeenvllpstsg7m4tv8ajhycny3pxuzxc2ne6ya35cxym5h63edj5ykavy4d3s5hgd4ktlq08r28mck5e2drtmz59kq9vvgkx0ch5k8cpjpz98q
I don't post often because I don't feel day to day occurrences need to be on my social network. I do wonder though how I'd bring value to nostr. So far. I don't know.
