Good to see opencollective on nostr.
And it's also a good moment to point out that Trustroots will never issue tokens. It's a community of 120k+. There is no need for rewards. People contribute by being good guests and good hosts. Money or any form of token would spoil this.
We can have trust relations, and ideally we'll figure out a good way to do this on nostr, but we don't need (or want) tokens for this.
- Link your Trustroots profile with the app thru NIP-05
- Add new notes in a pluscode area
- Layers with notes from hitchwiki.org and hitchmap.com
No iOS until expo map component is fixed upstream.
Feedback very welcome.
Flutter or React Native?
We're gonna drop our experimental nostr-map prototype and build a new app around geographical notes. Which framework should we pick?

Moving Trustroots onto nostr.
we want to make sure that Trustroots exists two decades from now and unlock sharing beyond hospitality: rides, bicycles, meals, parties, etc.
Come join us in our nostrification effort, Wednesday 22nd to Sunday 26th of May, near Berlin
Trustroots is a 100k+ members couchsurfing(tm) style social network and we’re putting it on nostr.
We looked at moving trustroots.org towards federated protocols such as matrix or activitypub. Federation means the user still relies on an individual (or org, which is still one or more individuals) running a server and on domain names.
The lack of well-defined profile portability makes such a migration an almost pointless exercise, taking us from centralized to DINO (decentralized in name only).
We're hoping to move trustroots.org over to nostr. To that end we're organising a collective, 22-26 May, ~1h from Berlin. More info and a form is here:
